We are all fully aware of the truly horrendous situation in which we all as a country, and in fact the world, found ourselves facing this year with Covid-19. Following-on from this and as we move towards restart here at Glendale Guest House we have been working tremendously hard to ensure we are both COVID safe and compliant for all our guests. Not only have we met the Visit England Covid-19 industry recognised standard, we have also met the AA Covid Confident requirements and Glendale Guest House is fully registered on the AA Covid Confident scheme as well ensuring we attain the highest operating standards for all our guests.
We have complied our full Covid-19 Risk Assessment. This is inline with all recommended government and local authority guidelines and we comply in full accordance with these. Our risk assessment will be regularly revisited to ensure this is up-to-date and takes account of any future changes or recommendation which may apply. We will also self assess to ensure that the measures we have in place delivery the safest, optimum outcome for all our guests.
As with all businesses once our lovely Guest House reopens we will undoubtedly have to incorporate some operational changes. Our 'New Normal' will be in place to ensure the safety and well-being not only for us but for all our guests. Registration information for all guests, including guests names for group bookings, will be established before arrival check-in where possible. Some operational changes are now in place & we have outlined, in a little more detail, below the one's which we feel will be of most relevance & importance to our guests.
To ensure that our check-in process is limited to maximise guest safety, we have introduced our new Digital Registration process, completed online. This means that you will automatically received and email message before your arrival with us which will enable you to complete the required registration details before you arrive. This both reduces the person-to-person contact time required for arrival check-in and it also reduces the requirement for paper registration forms, which is better for our environment too. It's Easy, Safe & Environmentally more friendly!
In line with the industry recommendations at Glendale Guest House we ask all guests, where applicable, to wear facing coverings in communal locations - such as hallways & reception areas. This will not only protect you, but also other guests too.
We intend to make both our check-in and check-out policy simple, straight forward, stress free and as clear as possible; while continuing remaining Covid safe & compliant. For example: we will aim to stagger arrival check-in times - to try and ensure that unrelated guests/groups avoid arriving together. To help us achieve this, our on-line booking system allows you to indicate your estimated time of arrival; between our standard check-in time of 4pm - 8.30pm. Check-out changes avoid the person-to-person key return. Social Distancing is operated too - aiming to maintain the current best practice guideline of 2 meters; with signage to support & encourage social distancing in place. Face-to-face contact time & actives minimized to further reduce risk.
At Glendale Guest House we pride ourselves on our wonderful breakfast selection and experience and we know that our guests value this too. To ensure that we can continue to delivery the experience each individual guests requires we will be introducing breakfast as a 'full table service' only, sadly we are unable to deliver our 'pre-starter buffet' selection in our dining room, until further notice; but don't worry table service option will still ensure that pre-starter selections such as cereals, yogurt, croissants & juices are still available.
As well as priding ourselves on our wonderful breakfast we are extremely proud of the cleanliness we have always attained - even prior to Covid-19, this was paramount to us and we always achieved standards of excellence. This will undoubtedly continue, but as an additional measure & safeguard we will operate with even greater enhance cleaning measures. These will include full antibacterial sanitization of all surfaces, in both public areas such as hallways, reception & dinning room as well as in guest bedrooms & en-suite bathrooms. We are operating on a reduce guest / room number to ensure rooms, allowing for greater ease with social distancing.
Our reception area & entrance hallway will have hand sanitizer available for all our guests to use as required. This will be located for use when entering into our dining room before breakfast too and will be continually available to use as needed while you stay with us.
Current Best Practice for Social Distancing is recommended at 2 meters where possible and at Glendale Guest House, we are fortunate that in most public locations we are able to delivery this ensuring our guests remain as safe as possible. There are however, some occasion's when maintaining 2 meter distance simply is not possible - for example 'When we delivery your cooking breakfast to your table' on these occasions additional consideration will be given; this includes the use of face coverings and as needed disposable gloves.
These are very unprecedented times and Covid-19 is not something to which we have any previous knowledge or working practice; but at Glendale Guest House we will always work together with, local authority & government guidelines and with equal importance with YOU our very valued guests. We strive to ensure that your stay with us at Glendale Guest House is not only COVID SAFE but also enjoyable & relaxing too.
