Where Can You Park?
Glendale Guesthouse is a traditional Victorian Property dating back well into the 1800’s as such building of this nature where not built with a ‘Car park’ and as a result we do not have a car park at the rear of our very lovely home! However, we are exceptionally fortunately to have a number of great & very easy, convenient parking options available to all our guests – read-on to find the option that best suits you.
Free On-Road Parking:
Most guests choose ‘on-road’ parking, this is delivered directly outside our property on Portland Place; parking on-road is restricted to two hours, between 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday. After 6pm till 8am, parking is unrestricted – you can leave your vehicle during this time without restriction or disc requirement. However, in restricted time you can park for 2 hours when displaying a disc parking. Hence our check-in time is 4pm – disc use to 6pm then unrestricted, then again 8am disc used for up to 2 hours taking you to our latest check-out time of 10am.
Please Note, should you need a parking-disc simply let us know on arrival check-in and we will happily supply you with one to use while you stay with us. Also, please bear in mind, that this method of ‘on-road’ parking is not guaranteed, it is strictly first come first served; we cannot hold or reserve you a parking space.
Large Car Park -‘just opposite us’
In the event that you require longer parking options or you are unable to find suitable on-road parking at Glendale, we are extremely lucky to have a 24 hour, seven day a week, also over-night park located just over the road at the other side of our beautiful Penrith Millennium Garden
‘Drovers Lane Car Park’.
This car-park backs onto the Penrith Police Station, This is a ‘pay-and-display’ car park, you can pay by the hour or for the full day; options to pay on the day of arrival, or paying in-advance before you arrive, is also available. How Do I find The Carpark?
Finding the car park is really, easy once you have arrived onto Portland Place; With Glendale guesthouse to your left-hand side you are heading in the right direction! Simply drive to the end of Portland Place where you will find a ‘mini-round-about’ you need to turn right on this mini-round-about, taking the last exist, this is just on the corner of Portland Place taking you onto Drovers Lane. Then simply ignore the first right-turn this leads into a private car-park, take the second right-turn into the main car-park entrance, it’s that easy! Once you have ‘paid-and-displayed’ as required, you can head across to us via the lower side exit on the right, after the police station; this cuts back onto Portland Place no need to walk back around the way you drove – it really is as simple and convenient as that.
